Here are answers to some frequently asked questions by our bride and grooms about our Raleigh Engagement Photography that will help you get to know us a little bit better. Q. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A RALEIGH ENGAGEMENT SHOOT SINCE MY FIANCE AND I ALREADY HAVE TONS OF PHOTOS TOGETHER?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: There are several reasons to do an engagement shoot in Raleigh, even if you already have pictures. Many couples use the engagement photos for “save the date cards” and invitations. Couples can also use a photo from the session with a nice matte and have guests sign it on their wedding day. Most importantly, it’s a great way to get to know us, and for us to get to know you, before your wedding day. You’ll experience first hand what it feels like to be in front of the camera and it’s a very good rehearsal that will put you at ease for your wedding day.
Q. WHAT TIME OF DAY DO YOU SUGGEST FOR OUR RALEIGH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: As a photographer, quality light is very important to us. In the late afternoon, the light is always softer and more flattering, which helps us create better photos. We do not suggest scheduling your photography session in the middle of the day since the sun creates harsh shadows and is very unforgiving.
Q. WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR TO OUR RALEIGH ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: It’s always a good idea for you and your fiance to plan the waredrobe in advance, and to try to dress to complement each other. Solid, natural colors generally work best since patterns can get too busy and distracting for the camera. Watch out for really wild colors since they can really vibrate with the camera. Be watchful of big logos on shirts as those can be distasteful in photos. White shirts or dresses are OK, but they can be hard to photograph, especially outside in bright sunlight. Up-scale jeans are fine, but it can be nice to dress up for a more sophisticated look. Make sure your hair and nails are well groomed since our high megapixel cameras see every detail.
Q. CAN WE CHANGE OUTFITS IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: Yes, we encourage our couples to bring at least two sets of outfits, one that is casual and another that is more dressy. We usually prefer that you arrive to the location in the more upscale outfit. We’ll shoot a whole bunch of images in the dressier attire, then have you switch to your more casual outfit. That way we can create several looks during the session and provide you with some choices in your photos.
Q. WE HAVE SELECTED THE PERFECT OUTFITS FOR OUR SESSION. DO YOU OFFER MAKE-UP SERVICES?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: Though we do not apply make-up to out clients, we would be happy to recommend and coordinate a make-up artist for your Raleigh engagement photos. Make-up that is well done can significantly enhance the look of your engagement photographs.
Q. HOW DO WE CHOOSE A RALEIGH ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION LOCATION?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: We will work with you to develop a plan, location and style for your engagement photos. This engagement shoot plan is developed collaboratively by talking with you and your fiance to find out things like where you met, your favorite activities, your likes and dislikes – and what your personal style is influenced by. We believe that your engagement photos should reflect who you are.
Q. CAN WE BRING ANYTHING TO THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT, LIKE PROPS?
Raleigh Engagement Photographer Answer: Yes, you are encouraged to bring props and to let us know if there is anything special you want to work into your Raleigh engagement photo session. Props such as a guitar, skateboard or camera can help us get a better idea of who you are, and what shapes you as a couple. Plus, we feel that anytime you can bring something personal with you, it helps you relax and lets you be more natural in front of the lens. It makes it easy for us to capture your true personality.
Q. HOW MANY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHS WILL YOU DELIVER?
Raleigh Engagement Photographers Answer: For our engagement photography sessions, we typically deliver 75-100 high-quality images on disk in both high resolution print size, and low resolution web size. This should give you a variety of choices to choose from.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET OUR RALEIGH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHS DELIVERED?
Raleigh Engagement Photographers Answer: Most engagement photos are delivered approximately 1-2 weeks after the session, depending upon the time of year and our shooting schedule. We try to get you a small sample of teaser photos a day or two after the session as a sneak peak of what is to come.
